Service policy
Grasshopper Go is designed for lightweight yard-care jobs in the San Francisco Bay Area pilot. This page defines what can and cannot be requested through the platform, plus the baseline insurance rule for Grasshoppers.
Allowed lightweight services
- Lawn mowing and edging.
- Light weeding and trimming.
- Leaf and small debris cleanup.
- Basic yard tidying for open houses or tenant turnover.
- Small hedge or shrub shaping from ground level.
- Green waste bagging or curb placement when allowed locally.
- Customer-equipment jobs when the Grasshopper accepts that setup.
- Other low-risk, non-permitted yard work approved by support.
Prohibited services
- No tree removal, tree climbing, roof work, ladder-dependent work, or work near utility lines.
- No heavy machinery, excavation, hauling requiring special equipment, demolition, or tearing up yards.
- No work requiring permits, licensed trades, pesticide application, hazardous material handling, or structural changes.
- No unsafe access, aggressive-animal exposure, blocked exits, unmarked hazards, or unclear property authority.
Customer responsibilities
Customers must have authority over the property, describe the scope honestly, disclose hazards, provide access instructions, mark do-not-work areas, and avoid requesting prohibited work. Customers should remove fragile items and secure pets before the appointment.
Grasshopper responsibilities
Grasshoppers choose which offers to make, set their own prices, disclose equipment expectations, follow the accepted scope, avoid prohibited work, upload completion photos when required, and report safety or scope issues through Grasshopper Go support.
Insurance requirement
Grasshopper Go does not provide insurance for Grasshopper work. Paid-job access requires active Grasshopper insurance verification, plus any applicable workers' compensation, license, permit, or exemption review. Customers and Grasshoppers cannot opt out of this requirement by agreement.
